A Lifelong Journey in Music
Jules musical journey began at the age of four when his father and older brother first started teaching him songs on the piano. By age five, he was already playing in church services, developing a deep connection to Gospel music and ministry at an early age.
As he grew older, Jules expanded his musical studies into Classical and Jazz music, studying composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart while continuing to develop his ear, improvisation, and Gospel musicianship. His unique blend of Gospel, Classical, and Jazz influences helped shape the versatile musical style he is known for today.
Jules has studied at prestigious institutions including Berklee College of Music, The Colburn School, and Santa Monica College while continuing to perform with churches, worship teams, bands, and productions throughout Los Angeles.
Preserving Gospel Music for Future Generations
One of Jules’ greatest passions is preserving traditional Black Gospel music. Many meaningful Gospel songs and arrangements have never been formally documented, leaving musicians to learn entirely by ear with limited resources available.
Through detailed transcriptions, tutorials, educational content, and mentorship, Jules works to help preserve and archive Gospel music so future generations of musicians, churches, worship teams, and choir directors can continue learning and sharing the music that has impacted so many lives.
Beyond Music
Outside of music and education, Jules is a devoted husband to his wife Kristen and father to his wonderful kids.
Jules values faith, family, ministry, and community above all. Much of the heart behind Jules Kain Music is rooted in a genuine desire to encourage musicians and help them grow both spiritually and musically while preserving the rich traditions of Gospel music for future generations.
In addition to his work as a musician and educator, Jules is also an actor and on-screen musician with appearances in hundreds of television, film, commercial, and live productions throughout his career.
Beyond the stage and screen, Jules holds a black belt in Korean martial arts and enjoys collecting coins and owns a large collection of classic and rare Gospel Music vinyl records and video recordings that continue to inspire his teaching, transcriptions, and musical style.
Through Jules Kain Music, his mission remains simple: helping musicians grow, preserving authentic Gospel music, and making high-quality Gospel music education accessible to musicians and churches around the world.
